Photography: A passion for life!

Over the course of my life, I have always enjoyed art; in particular photography! I was surprised to find out only a few months ago, that “true” photography was not always considered art. That it wasn’t until a group of photographer known as Group f64 convened in the early 1930’s, that true photography (the picture is what the photographer saw through his lens), was considered an art. Before that time, critics said that it was a true form of art, because the photographer was only capturing nature on glass through a lens. No other consideration were every addressed.
As an artist (photographer), there are so many things to take into consideration before ever picking up a camera to take a picture. Am I going to need additional light? What lens should I use? What angle is best? What aperture? What speed? What about the white balance? What do I want to say? Yes--what do I what to say to my audience!
It is not easy to explain why a photographer enjoys his work or for that matter, why any artist enjoys his work. There is a compassion with in us all that drives us to find something that we enjoy. Rather than be writing or photography or cross-country skiing, there is something in us that compels us to be the best at something we enjoy more than anything else in the world. To me, that compassion is photograph; natural photography. Where being behind the camera, Capturing Life’s Moments, one moment at a time.
